Osaka Trip: Don Quijote Dotonbori Store

Although the shopping is fun drawn to the bustling Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade, I often ended up buying things at Don Quijote (Donki to locals), one of Japan's largest discount stores.

I always ogled shelf after shelf filled with so many things. They have huge selections like grocery items, chocolates, souvenirs, cosmetics and beauty care products, toys, clothes, home appliances, and bicycles. There are also luxury brand goods such as Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, Bvlgari, and Gucci, located on the 6th floor. I have nothing much to share because I didn't buy any of these. Luxury brand goods in Japan are way too expensive compared to other countries. My purpose was to buy something inexpensive.

I surveyed in childish awe and got to bring home some Japanese teas, chocolates, biscuits, funny eyeglasses and masks, hello kitty accessories, flavored mask, nail art decal, chopstick and Japanese headband called Hachimaki. I'm really happy with my thrift shopping!

I brought these funny eyeglasses and masks to our family get-together, and we all had such a hilarious time!

Wearing a different eyeglass is a complete transformation. See the photo collage of my niece, one is somewhat cute, but with droopy eyes, and the other is despicable. hahaha

Don Quijote is probably one of the best discount stores I have ever been to in Japan, and it has something for everyone. If you're on a budget, this is your place for easy on the pocket prices. Plus, a tax-free shopping for tourists!
