She looks kind and cute, with a button nose, two black dot-eyes, six whiskers, and a ribbon or flower in her hair. Uhm, you might be wondering what I'm talking about. Well, this fictional feline character is none other than Miss Hello Kitty, which will be the main topic of this post.
Aside from Kingship Hotel, we had already booked our stay for one night at Grand Hi-Lai Hotel, which is one of the best 5-Star Hotels in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and an ideal place for business, entertainment and leisure. Just a few weeks back, I saw this hotel featured in a Taiwanese TV series. :)

Okay, I admit... in spite of my "old" age (Ouch! hahaha), I am truly a KID AT HEART. Stuff that falls into the category of "cute" still drives me crazy. Besides, Hello Kitty's target audience has now successfully extended to older women. Moreover, Hello Kitty is celebrating her 35th birthday this November 1st. So, I think "older women" who are crazy over her are socially acceptable. :=))

What's noteworthy about Grand Hi-Lai Hotel is that they have the Hello Kitty Themed Rooms. In fact, they have two rooms, the Hello Kitty Suite Room and the Hello Kitty Superior Room. The rooms are on the same floor right next to each other.

There I was beaming with gladness that I actually saw the room I fancied. The 33 square meter room is fully furnished with pinky hello kitties everywhere including bed, pillow cases, curtains, table cloth and chairs.

To our surprise, there was a plate of fresh fruits waiting for us upon arrival.
The desk comes with a kitty lamp, kitty post cards, kitty notepads, kitty letter paper, kitty envelopes and kitty pencils.
There's also a complete set of Hello Kitty personal amenities including slippers, towels, bathrobes and bathroom accessories. The large private bathroom has an ample sized shower and a separate bathtub as well.

Some of these amenities are only for your use while staying in the guestroom. But guests who wishes to bring these items to their home can shop at Hi-Lai Kitty house.
This beautifully furnished kitty room also offers great view.
All in all this was a good deal. Our room was superb and comfortable. Plus I brought some pretty awesome kitties as well. :))

Alright, for those who are curious about the Hello Kitty Suite Room, you can book this at a whopping price of NTD$12,888+10% (around Php 21,000.00 or US$432.00) a night. WHEW! Despite the escalating recession, the hotel still manages to keep their bookings up. No wonder they're targeting high-paying guests - the wealthy middle-aged women from Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as the Japanese tourists who are just generally fond of cute and quirky stuff.

Basically the inclusions are the same except the room is bigger than the regular hello kitty room. The suite has a living room, dining room and a master bedroom.
