MODERN ZUMAS

Residence Inn Tagaytay is another attraction where you can visit with your family and friends especially on weekends. Entrance fee is Php 99.00 per person (as of July 2009.) We've been there a few years back (day trip only) with my family and we had a good time.

What's special about this place? Well aside from the overnight accommodation, there's a mini-zoo where guests can explore on their own or opt to join the "educational tour" that cost around Php 45.00 each. For me, the most exciting part was the "Serpentarium". As soon as we entered the place the caretaker jubilantly greeted us, "Hello, would you like to have a photo with the snake?"

I answered with a question, "Is it venomous?"

"No", replied the caretaker.

Without a hint of hesitation, I was daring enough to reach out first and grabbed the cold-blooded scaly elongate reptile. OMG, it was huge and HEAVY! It was probably around 6 feet. I was so calm but at the same time exhilarated.

The rest of the family never tried to face their fear. Just the mere sight of the reptile held great terror for them. They couldn't even believe that the three of us could muster up the courage to hold the snake. :) Nevertheless, we had fun and felt like the true modern Zumas (a demigod that has a snake on his shoulder).
