PLAZA SENAYAN

Soon we arrived at Plaza Senayan, which is conveniently located at the South end of Jakarta's Central Business District, positioned next to Jalan Sudirman and near Jalan Gatot Subroto - two of Jakarta's main thorough fares.

We just had a quick sauntering around the upscale shopping mall that features a wide array of designer-label boutiques. We popped in for a few minutes at Books Kinokuniya (the second largest bookstore in Jakarta), bought some Japanese books and a map.

If you just want to take time to stroll around the mall you can go to the atrium and look for the giant MarryGold Clock made by Seiko. It's a musical clock with a 6-figure orchestra that serenades shoppers every hour. Also if you're into Malaysian pewter designs, Royal Selangor can be found on the second floor.

We were a bit starving when we went to Bakmi GM (Gajah Mada) for noodles (17,727 Rupiah) and lemon tea (6,363 Rupiah), which is located on the basement level.

It looks like HB and I were on the same wavelength at that time. We didn't like what we ordered. The taste was totally different and the lemon tea they served was overly cloyingly sweet. Soon we paid the bill but I decided to grab a few scoops of Gelato ice cream from a neighboring stall, then we boarded a cab going back to our hotel.
