GELANGGANG SAMUDRA

Ancol Dreamland Part 3 of 8

Just a few steps away from SeaWorld is Gelanggang Samudra (Ocean Park). We purchased a ticket (Rp 60,000 each) at the counter located right next to the main entrance. Gelanggang Samudra is an exhibition area for some marine animals.

We proceeded directly to the Pyramids 4D Theater. We were the very first to arrive in the corridor where we waited in line. Luckily, we got there early enough to watch the first showing.

As we went inside they gave us these blocky black glasses each. We then made our way to the waiting area, which was painted in multi-colored hues and featured images that look like ethnic Egyptian people.

As soon as the door opens many visitors rushed hastily into the theater room. Thankfully, there were still plenty of good seats left. The show itself was just okay with additional special effect such as the wind blowing, water spray, shakes and chair moving. However, the glasses they provided were blurry and the frame was small causing a bit of discomfort.

The schedules of 4D Theater presentations are as follow (based on June 2009 update), everyday at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:15.

After viewing, we took some photos just having fun and goofing around at the park.

Gelanggang Samudra is also designed to entertain visitors with other attractions including sea lion show, marine and fresh water aquarium, variety animal's show, balon race, red baron and kiddy bumper car. But the most favorable presentations here are the dolphin show and 4D Theater.

Soon we hopped into an air-conditioned blue bird taxi cab and headed back to Dunia Fantasi.
