THE GOOD EARTH TEA ROOM

Posted by JUNE (AnAsianTraveler) On Saturday, May 26, 2007
If there's one thing patrons of 'The Good Earth Tea Room' keep coming back for, it's definitely the twist of Chinese flavors and zest that made the restaurant famous. The Good Earth Tea Room in Alabang is just a small place but it creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Two weeks ago my elder sister and my brother in law treated us (another elder sister of mine, my niece and me), a comforting Chinese fare for lunch. It was Friday noon, so only few customers were there.

We checked out their main courses like Beef Broccoli (P350.00),

Pork with Szechuan Sauce (P285), good for two persons only.

Seafood Chow Mein Noodles (P395.00),

Fried Rice (P210.00), good for two to three persons.

Melon Fruit Shake (P65.00)

Bottomless Iced Green Tea (P65.00)

Desserts include the Icey Hot Banana (P125.00), sweet fried hot banana nestled with ice cream.

Grasshopper Delight (P125.00), one scoop of ice cream topped with a strawberry. Loads of green gelatin and oranges with a wafer stick.

Coffee Jelly (P95.00), one scoop of ice cream with loads of coffee jellies topped with a strawberry. You might be asking yourself where is the strawberry. Well, my sister took it before I managed to have a snapshot. hehehe...

Our plate was cleaned out up to the last crumb. I lve all the food except the pork. Our total bill was P2,586.00 for five people.

Just a month ago I dined here together with my hubby, and they gave us a free bowl of Kropeck cracker after we ordered. But this time, they never even bother to give us . Well, I'm not very fond of Kropeck but I just want to know if they really serve this. Or perhaps the waiter was just too lazy that day. hummm...

The Good Earth Tea Room is at the upper ground floor, Corte de Las Palmas, Alabang Town Center. Contact No. 8093260 or 8506294.

Ooooh! I'll tell my Tito and Tita about this plug. The chef/owner, Mr. Henry Cheung, really does great dishes even way before he opened the first Good Earth Tea Room in Greenhills and then Magallanes. Many thanks! :)
