AHH, THE NOTORIOUS STINKY TOFU!

Posted by An Asian Traveler - Notable Travel Experience

Boy! This is the most fetid food I've ever come across. We happened to pass by a small eatery along the street of Shilin Night Market that sells this exotic fare - the Stinky Tofu. Stinky Tofu (also known by its Chinese name, Chou Dofu), is a marinated and fermented tofu dish. see more photos ...

A BIZARRELY KNOWN TOILET THEMED RESTAURANT

Posted by An Asian Traveler - Notable Travel Experience

To some it may seem outrageous and bizarre but honestly my main reason why I wanted to visit Taipei, Taiwan was to dine at Modern Toilet. I read a couple of articles about this place, and decided we had to go check it out for ourselves. see more photos ...

THE SOHOTON CAVE ADVENTURE

THE CU CHI TUNNEL EXPERIENCE

Posted by An Asian Traveler - Notable Travel Experience

There were too many people inside the tunnel plus it was extremely hot, airless, dark and claustrophobic. The ceiling was so low that we had to move slowly in a squat position waggling like a duck, see more photos ...

GIUSEPPE'S RISTORANTE ITALIANO FILIPINO

Posted by An Asian Traveler On Saturday, December 30, 2006
It was raining the whole week but it didn't stop us to visit one of the eating-places in Tacloban. Hb and I had a date at Giuseppe's Restaurant. Giuseppe's is a fine dining restaurant with an authentic Italian and Filipino gastronomy. They also offers an extensive wine list.

As we arrived early in the afternoon there were not yet many patrons. A waiter greeted and ushered us to our table. The first thing I noticed when we entered the restaurant was the bright red wall. The place was decorated with Christmas ornaments. It had dim lighting and in every table had red place mats.

I still had a full stomach at that time, so, I just ordered a Hamburger (P105). It comes with a home-style french fries with a tartar sauce and a few slices of tomato and cucumber. The fries weren't that crispy but the burger was good enough.

Hb decided on Spaghetti Carbonara (P150). I tried to taste it, it was creamy and simply delicious.

However, service was a little bit slow knowing that there were only few people present. But the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy that we didn't mind at all.

This place is great for family occasions. There's no dress code here, come as you are.

Giuseppe's Ristorante Italiano Filipino is located at Avenida Vetaranos, Tacloban City (across DWU and St. Paul's Hospital). You may contact them at 321-4910.
